Privacy Policy
Effective 28 September 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Mediocre Life Story (the “App”), made by the owners of Mediocre Life Story (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions, email highlyintellectualmind@gmail.com.
The short version
- No account. You never sign up, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your game stays on your device. Your lives, achievements and settings are saved only on your phone. We don't run servers that receive them.
- Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect device information to show and measure ads, with your consent where the law requires it. Mediocre Life Story Plus removes all ads.
- Payments go through Apple or Google. We never see your card or payment details.
- We don't sell your personal information, and the App contains no analytics or tracking of our own.
1. Information stored on your device
The App saves your game on your device: the lives you have lived, your current life, achievements, scores, settings (such as appearance, text size and design) and, if you subscribe, a note that Mediocre Life Story Plus is active and when it renews. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else by the App.
You can delete it at any time: Settings → Reset progress erases your lives, achievements and discoveries, and deleting the App removes everything it stored.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
If you don't have Mediocre Life Story Plus, the App shows ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC (or Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland). Ads appear only between lives, or when you choose to watch one for a reward (a rewind or an extra action).
To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- device and advertising identifiers: on iPhone, the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking; on Android, the Android advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device settings;
- your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
- information about your device and the App (model, operating system, language, app version);
- how you interact with ads (views, taps) and diagnostic information about ad performance.
Google uses this information as described in its Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your choices
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ad is requested, the App shows Google's consent form so you can choose whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone: the App asks for permission before it can use your advertising identifier (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be based on tracking across other companies' apps and websites. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can opt out of personalised ads or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
- No ads at all: Mediocre Life Story Plus removes all ads.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Mediocre Life Story Plus is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment under their own privacy policies; we never receive your payment details, name or billing address. The App only receives a confirmation from the store that your subscription is active (and, on the App Store, when it renews or ends), which it keeps on your device to unlock Plus.
4. What we don't do
- We don't require or offer an account.
- We don't collect your contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera.
- We don't include analytics, crash-reporting or social-media tracking tools of our own.
- We don't sell your personal information.
5. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and it deals with mature themes such as war, illness, death, addiction and gambling (all simulated). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we'll help remove it.
6. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR applies: personalised advertising relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices; non-personalised ads, frequency limits and fraud prevention rely on legitimate interests in funding a free game; and processing needed to provide a subscription you bought relies on the performance of a contract. Google acts as an independent controller for the data its advertising services process.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising.
Because your game data never leaves your device, you can see and delete it yourself (see section 1). For advertising data, use the choices in section 2, which also serve as your opt-out of targeted advertising, and Google's own tools at My Ad Center. You can also contact us at highlyintellectualmind@gmail.com, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Data retention and transfers
Game data stays on your device until you reset it or delete the App. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its policies and may be processed on servers in the United States and other countries, under the safeguards Google describes.
9. Security
Because we don't collect your game data, there is nothing of yours on our side to breach. Connections made by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the app stores are encrypted.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change applies.
